With its comprehensive range of both inpatient and outpatient services, Berkshire Health Systems is the area’s leader in providing rehabilitative care to the community. Our hospital-based inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs offer comprehensive services that help our patients to achieve the highest level of function, independence and quality of life. We have an extraordinary record of success, and take pride in the care, dedication and expertise of our rehabilitation team.
At both Berkshire Medical Center and Fairview Hospital, rehabilitation services take place in patient-centered environments that promote progress and recovery, including inpatient services at both hospitals and outpatient care at the Center for Rehabilitation at BMC and Fairview’s Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Staffed with trained rehab professionals, including physiatrists, rehab nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers and social workers, the center has a focused team-approach to patient care.
Our services include pediatric and adult rehabilitation, audiology care, physical and occupational therapy services, speech therapy, hand therapy, neuro-developmental treatment by certified therapists, industrial rehabilitation, a therapy pool and others.
Some of our patients have medically complex disabilities. In addition to their physical or neurological conditions, they may also have heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, nutritional or emotional issues. Because our rehabilitation services are hospital-based, our highly skilled physiatry physicians have access to a full range of medical specialists, from primary care to surgical specialists to neurologists and others, who collaborate on each case. Every member of the rehab staff is committed to helping our patients meet these challenges together and reach the highest goals possible.
