About David Norton, DO;

Dr. David Norton, DO is board-certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. He enjoys managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Norton offers a holistic set of skills ranging from Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Ultrasound-Guided Joint Injections, Trigger Point Injections, Lifestyle Medicine, and keeping up with the latest advances in Non-surgical Orthopedic procedures and techniques.

Osteopathically, Dr. Norton enjoys treating neck, back, and sacral pain. He treats all ages and loves his ultrasound guided knee injections! Dr. Norton believes that a “healthy musculoskeletal system is absolutely imperative for overall health and wellbeing.” But he also notes “when we treat Osteopathically not only does the musculoskeletal system improve but we find a person’s entire physiology improves on a systems level. As a result, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine improves a wide range of health conditions as well. He is a big advocate for “Exercise as Medicine” and enjoys discussing the latest evidence-based exercise literature with his patients to augment their treatment and recovery.

The genesis of Dr. Norton’s passion for Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine started very young and where he had deep love for science and sports. He grew up in the Boston area; however, went to high school at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts where he played soccer, ice hockey, and lacrosse. From there he moved on to Connecticut College where he majored in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology and played Collegiate Ice Hockey in the very competitive NESCAC league. He also played internationally with the USA National team. “My experience of as a lifelong athlete, playing ice hockey at a high level and my interest to understand biology at its the most intricate level cemented my desire to be an Osteopathic Physician who specialized in musculoskeletal system with a focus on health and wellbeing. I chose Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine as a specialty because I wanted to provide excellence in Osteopathy and excellence in non-surgical orthopedic procedures. He is excited to be back in the Berkshires serving the community with a team committed to excellence in Physiatry and Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Norton finds enjoyment still playing pond hockey in the winter months as well as cycling, skiing, tennis, yoga/meditation, and chess. He has a sweet tooth as he loves chocolate-esp dark chocolate! He continues to be passionately involved with the American Academy of Osteopathy and the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation (which is dedicated to advancing research and awareness of Non-Surgical Regenerative Medicine for Orthopedic conditions).
