About Soma Brahmanandam, MD

Dr. Brahmanandam earned her medical degree from the Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, RI. She served her internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Massachusetts. During this time, she earned a Masters in Public Health in epidemiology and biostatistics from the Harvard School of Public Health. She then completed her fellowship in Vascular Surgery from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Dr. Brahmanandam’s was in private practice with PrimaCARE, Center for Vascular Diseases in Fall River, MA from 2013 to 2015. She then joined the Mount Sinai system in 2015 where she started at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. She then helped to build the Vascular Center at Mount Sinai Queens where she was the Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety.
Currently, she is the Chief of Vascular Surgery at The Berkshire Medical Center since 2022.
She is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) and the South Asian American Vascular Society (SAAVS). She has presented at multiple national medical conferences including: the Annual Meeting for the SVS, the New England Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Midwestern Vascular Surgical Society. She has also published several articles in the Journal of Vascular Surgery. She also was a 2019 recipient of the SVS Community Awareness and Prevention Project Grant to raise awareness about peripheral vascular disease across Queens County.
