Berkshire Health Systems is pleased to welcome Dr. Joel Oster (he/him) as the Division Chief of Neurology. Dr. Oster received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA where he also completed residencies in Internal Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and Neurology at Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Oster completed his fellowship where he specialized in EEGs, Epilepsy, and Neurophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital through Harvard Medical School.

He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with certifications in Neurology, Sleep Medicine, and Epilepsy and the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology with special qualifications in EEG/Epilepsy Monitoring, Intraoperative Neurologic Monitoring, and Critical Care EEG. Dr. Oster has practiced medicine for 23 years, and he enjoys practicing in all areas of his medical training.

Coming from Boston, Dr. Oster is new to the Berkshires, and he is excited to experience all there is to offer here while embracing his role at BHS. Dr. Oster enjoys several museums and cultural destinations in the Berkshires including the Clark Art Institute, Mass MoCA, the Norman Rockwell Museum, the Berkshire Botanical Gardens, and Tanglewood. Two of his favorite towns to visit are Williamstown and Stockbridge.
