The Fairview Center offers convenient access for patients from the southern Berkshires, northwest Connecticut and Columbia County communities and is also equipped with two hyperbaric oxygen chambers and four treatment rooms. The Center for Wound Care at the North Adams facility also offer comprehensive wound care services.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a treatment in which the patient breathes 100% oxygen while enclosed in a clear, specialized chamber at greater-than-normal atmospheric pressure. While breathing pure oxygen, blood becomes super-saturated, carrying 20 to 30 times the normal amount of oxygen to the body’s tissues. The ultimate result is that the body’s natural wound-healing mechanisms, which are oxygen dependent, function more efficiently. Continued, intermittent use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy increases the body’s immune function and healing response.
