Sarah Kangas is a family nurse practitioner who has been providing care at Williamstown Medical of BMC since January of 2018. Prior to her position at Williamstown Medical, she was employed by Berkshire Health Systems in Urgent Care and at the Williamstown-based Walk-In Clinic. Before becoming a nurse practitioner she worked as a visiting nurse and an inpatient nurse in Neurology/Neurosurgery. She completed both her undergraduate studies in nursing and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Sarah’s dream has been to work in primary care because of the focus on preventive medicine and long-term relationships with patients and their families. Her clinical interests include education, women’s health, LGBTQ+ health, mental health, and caring for the whole person across the lifespan.
A native of central Massachusetts, Sarah now lives in the Berkshires with her husband and two children and enjoys all seasons the Berkshires offer. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family and friends, skiing, snowshoeing, gardening, hiking, watching television, and cooking or baking.
