Berkshire VNA Schedules Flu Clinics |
September 25, 2008 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE BERKSHIRE VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES 2008 FLU CLINIC SCHEDULE PITTSFIELD, MA – The Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association has scheduled numerous public flu vaccine clinics, starting in October, to provide flu vaccine to any and all adults aged 18 and over. The Berkshire VNA flu clinics will be held at the Hillcrest Campus of Berkshire Medical Center, 165 Tor Court, Pittsfield, which has easy access and plentiful parking. Those wishing to receive a flu shot should bring their Medicare or health insurance card. Without insurance, the cost of the flu shot is $35. The injection is given in the upper arm near the shoulder and participants should wear short sleeves, allowing that area of the arm to be easily exposed. The pneumonia vaccine is also available for those who meet the criteria. The schedule for Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association flu clinics is: • Thursday, October 9th - 8 am to 4 pm • Thursday, October 16th - 12 pm to 6 pm • Thursday, October 23rd - 1 pm to 5 pm • Thursday, October 30th - 9 am to 2 pm • Thursday, November 6th - 1 pm to 4 pm • Thursday, December 4th - 1 pm to 4 pm In addition, the Berkshire VNA will hold a flu clinic on Monday, October 27th from 1:30 to 4:30 pm at the Southern Berkshire Community Center in Great Barrington and on Friday, November 14th from 2 to 4:30 pm at Fairview Hospital.
