For Immediate Release Dr. Cassano Joins Berkshire Health Systems as Director of Occupational and Environmental Medicine PITTSFIELD, MA - Berkshire Health Systems announces the appointment of Victoria A. Cassano, MD, MPH, a board certified Occupational Medicine specialist, as Medical Director of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Berkshire Medical Center. Dr. Cassano is accepting new patients in need of Occupational Medicine services and leads Berkshire Occupational Health, 610 North St., Pittsfield. Dr. Cassano came to the Berkshires after most recently serving as Director of Military Public Health, Department of Defense, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs in Falls Church, VA. She has also previously served as Senior Medical Adviser for the Office of Disability and Medical Assessment and Director of Radiation and Physical Exposures, Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington; Medical Director for Concentra Health Services in Springfield, MA; Acting Head of the Division of Occupational Medicine for SUNY Health Sciences Center in Stony Brook, NY; and Director of Occupational Medicine for Hartford Medical Group in CT. Dr. Cassano is a decorated veteran of the US Armed Forces, having attained the rank of Captain in the US Navy, serving from 1985 to 2004. Dr. Cassano is board certified in Occupational Medicine and Undersea/Clinical Hyperbaric Medicine. She received her medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD, and completed her residency in Occupational Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, where she also received a Master of Public Health.
