Cancer Survivor Day Planned
PITTSFIELD, MA – The annual Survivor Celebration for cancer survivors is scheduled for Saturday, March 10th from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at the Crowne Plaza Ballroom. The event is sponsored by Berkshire Medical Center, the American Cancer Society, Berkshire Hematology/Oncology and Berkshire Surgical Associates, and honors those who are touched by cancer. The event features a Living With Cancer conference, and is free and open to patients/survivors and caregivers 18 and over. The program includes a complimentary light and healthy breakfast.
Speakers for the event include: Welcoming remarks from Kathy Hart, RN, Berkshire Medical Center Care Navigation Program; Alice Trumbull, Moments House; Peg Camp, American Cancer Society; and Dr. Jessica Krochmal, a Pathologist at BMC and Cancer Liaison Physician for the Commission on Cancer. Dr. Elizabeth Boham of the Institute of Functional Medicine in Lenox will discuss nutrition and cancer and the Reverend Dr. Mary O’Malley, a Psychiatrist at BMC, will talk about maintaining a relationship during and after a health crisis.
