Berkshire Health Systems, in collaboration with The Brien Center and other community partners, provides essential services to help people suffering from Substance Use Disorders. These include inpatient medical management of substance use disorder programs, a Clinical Stabilization Services Unit to help transition from detoxification to stabilization and increase chances for success, outpatient Medication-Assisted-Treatment programs and community support services.

- BMC McGee Recovery Center: The McGee Recovery Center of Berkshire Medical Center is a DPH licensed, 21-bed acute treatment service and accredited opioid treatment program providing medically monitored detoxification services to all persons age 18 years and older seeking help with an identified drug or alcohol problem.
- BMC Clinical Stabilization Services for Substance Use Disorders: The 30-bed Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) Unit at Berkshire Medical Center is designed to stabilize patients and increase their chances for success after completing an initial detoxification program at the McGee Recovery Center at BMC.
- BMC Substance Use Disorders Emergency Services: Berkshire Medical Center provides a 24-hour Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Emergency Screening Service in the BMC Emergency Department.
- BMC Emergency Department Bridge Program: The bridge program initiates opiate addiction therapy that will improve patient wellness and increase the rate of continuing therapy, starting in the BMC Emergency Department. It begins with an evaluation in the Emergency Department, where a provider assesses the patient and discharges him or her with buprenorphine and a referral to the Brien Center. Depending on what is found in the provider's assessment, buprenorphine can be initiated either in the Emergency Department or at home. From there, the patient can go to the Brien Center in Pittsfield, North Adams, or Great Barrington and continue their medication assisted treatment. - BMC Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health: Berkshire Medical Center has psychiatrists and clinical nurse specialists, who team up with clinical psychologists, social workers, nurses and other clinicians to staff a Clinical Collaborative of comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder services with the Brien Center.
- BMC Healthy Steps Program: Healthy Steps provides numerous services, including a Needle Exchange Program, Sharps Disposal Program, HIV Testing and Support, TB Clinic, STD Clinic and Hepatitis Testing and Prevention Services.
- BHS Community Wellness Program: From programs for individuals to groups and businesses, BHS provides a comprehensive array of wellness services to help improve the lives of our residents and visitors.
