V is for Veinoglou!
The 2019 Fairview Hospital Gala, honoring surgeon Dr. George Veinoglou, took place on Saturday, September 21 at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center with over 600 supporters, physicians and staff enjoying Fairview’s biggest annual event, raising over $150,000 for the 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. In addition to a pre-show dinner and video tribute to Dr. Veinoglou, the 2019 Fairview Hospital Gala was filled with many surprises, including the amazing performance of mentalist Oz Pearlman and the generous donation of a guitar by Kim and James Taylor which raised $4500 in a live auction. Dr. Adrian Elliot, Chief of Fairview’s Emergency Department, thanked the community for its support. “We are all winners after tonight. Our staff will have the advanced technology that gives our community the care you need.” Funds raised will be invested in upgrades in anesthesiology and surgical services, an area of the hospital that has grown rapidly in recent years. Fairview was recently named “One of America’s Top Rural Hospitals” for the sixth year. To see the tribute video, CLICK HERE.
