The Pastoral Care staff at Berkshire Medical Center is available to provide spiritual support to those with religious connections and those who have none. The Chaplains offer support to any cancer patient who desires it, including those undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment, cancer surgery and all individuals and families in need of spiritual support. In addition, the Chaplains are available on an on-call basis for emergency requests from patients and their loved ones.
The chaplains collaborate with area clergy and faith community leaders to offer the most helpful pastoral care. Our Office Coordinator, Kim French, organizes a cadre of trained volunteers, especially Eucharistic Ministers who bring Communion to Catholic patients. The local priests are available for Sacramental ministry, when needed. Other clergy are kept informed and offer to assist when requested for patients and families.
They are available for prayer, counseling, sacraments and inquiries for personal spiritual practice. The staff consists of the Reverend Art Kaufman, Sister Colette Hanlon, SC, and Kim French, Office Coordinator.
