Program Descriptions
Be Well: Fairview provides nutrition support to Berkshire South's Be Well program to increase awareness about nutrition and health literacy to empower adults with knowledge, tools and resources to take charge of their own health.
Berkshire Meadows: A collaborative program with Berkshire Meadows to offer critical nutrition support for individuals with development delays. Services are provided weekly on site and includes various diet and texture modifications, along with feeding formula management.
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation: Nutrition counseling for individuals with lung or heart disease. Eating habits are focused on nourishing the heart and lungs.
Eating With Awareness: An 8 week group class to learn how to change eating behaviors and patterns, using mindfulness, meditation and group discussion.
GET FIT: A collaborative program with Berkshire South, we provide nutrition support to their GET FIT program to increase awareness about nutrition and health literacy to empower adults with knowledge, tools and resources to take charge of their own health. Currently provided the second Tuesday of the month.
Inpatient Nutrition: A comprehensive nutrition assessment and care plan is provided for both short and long term patients at Fairview Hospital and meet all legal requirements of the state and the facility. Both patient and family education is provided on site to discuss nutritional needs while hospitalized and any modifications needed when patients return home.
Life Enhancement Program: A 12-week long group health promotion program offering an integrative health approach with consideration for mind, body, spirit and emotions. The program encourages the process of self-empowerment to determine health goals related to nutrition, integrative health, behavioral concerns and fitness.
Operation Better Start: A nutritional/fitness program for clients from birth to young adult age, along with their families, who are faced with health concerns such as food allergies, digestive disorders, growth failure, insulin resistance, asthma, high cholesterol, weight management and hypertension.
TAKE SIX: A Fairview nutrition education program designed to increase awareness about nutrition and health literacy to empower teens with knowledge, tools and resources to take charge of their own health. TAKE SIX focuses on improving positive health behaviors such as stress management techiques, sleep hygiene, self-regulated eating behaviors, identification of healthy food choices, MyPlate Balanced Meals and awareness of community resources. This program is currently run twice a year (6 classes each) in collaboration with Monument Mountain High School'sCulinary Arts class.
TONE: A collaborative program with Berkshire South, we provide nutrition support to their TONE program to increase awareness about nutrition and health literacy to empower teens with knowledge, tools and resources to take charge of their own health. Currently provided once a month after school at Berkshire South.

Our Team
Our highly skilled team of nutrition experts at Fairview provide nutritional support for inpatient care, adult and pediatric outpatient counseling, diabetic education , cardiac counseling, sports and performance, eating disorders and community outreach programs. Our focus is on empowering children and adults to live lives through nutrition counseling, cooking skills, stress management, exercise and mindful eating practices.
Robert Hoechster, RD, LDN: Robert has over 20 years of professional experience in the nutrition field and has previosly been on staff at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Canyon Ranch, The Nutrition Center, Berkshire Meadows and New Age Spa. He lives wife his wife and two daughters in North Egremont and enjoys rock climbing, mountaineering and vegetable and medicinal herb gardening.
Stephanie MacLeay, RD, LDN: Stephanie received her degree at the Univerity of Massachusetts Amherst and completed her Dietetic Internship at Keene State College, NH. Practicing since 2015, she has been on staff for The Nutrition Center, and Nathaniel Witherell Short-Term Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center. She lives in Pittsfield, is a practicing Reiki Master and enjoys all forms of dance, women circles, vocal expression and community healing.
