BERKSHIRE HEALTH SYSTEMS ACHIEVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR EXCELLENCE IN HEALTHCARE MARKETING
PITTSFIELD, MA - Berkshire Health Systems has been honored nationally for its medical marketing efforts for the third year in a row, achieving a 2008 Bronze Aster Award in one of the largest competitions of its kind. BHS was honored for a healthcare mailing focusing on the national recognition of Berkshire Medical Center’s Cancer Program, recipient of an Outstanding Achievement Award by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. The Bronze Award honors BHS for ranking among the top 15% of all national entries in the Aster Award competition. In 2007, BHS also received a Bronze Aster Award for a direct mail piece highlighting Cardiology Services at BHS and the many national honors BMC and Fairview Hospital have attained in cardiovascular care. In 2006, BHS was honored with a Bronze Aster Award for its Wellness at Work publicity materials.
The Aster Awards are hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today magazine and Creative Images, Inc. The elite national program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in advertising and marketing efforts.
The 2008 Aster Awards consisted of approximately 3,000 entries from throughout the United States. A participant’s entries compete against similar-sized organizations in their category. Berkshire Health Systems competed against hospitals with between 300 and 499 beds. Entries must score at least in the top 85% to receive an award. Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
Both the 2007 and 2008 Bronze Award winners for Berkshire Health Systems were designed by Mattoon Communications, a Pittsfield-based marketing and communications company led by Donna Mattoon.
