BMC WOMEN’S IMAGING CENTER OFFERS POST-BREAST CANCER WELLNESS PROGRAM
PITTSFIELD, MA – The Women’s Imaging Center at Berkshire Medical Center is presenting a six-week wellness program for those who have undergone breast cancer treatment, featuring nutrition information, stress reduction techniques, yoga and more. The program is being offered on Tuesdays from October 2nd through November 6th, with the majority of the features taking place from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on those Tuesdays. A nutrition education program will be presented on October 2nd from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. All of the program’s components will be held in the BMC Private Dining Rooms, adjacent to the BMC Café.
Facilitators for the program are Marsha Schulte, Registered Dietitian specializing in the care of Oncology patients at BMC; Kim Murdock, RN, from the Women’s Imaging Center at BMC; Carol Harty, a Certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor; and Juliana Reiss, PsyD, BMC Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science.
The program will stress weight stabilization, reduction of discomfort, healthy eating habits, stimulating the immune system, handling stress and increasing energy, while making new friends and having fun. The program will feature four weeks of gentle yoga, a week of nutrition instruction and a week focusing on stress reduction.
The cost for the six-week program is $30, with financial assistance available. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required. To reserve a space for this program, call 413-447-3092.
