Three Community Leaders Join BHS Board of Trustees

Three New Trustees Elected to Berkshire Health Systems Board

PITTSFIELD, MA – Berkshire Health Systems announces the appointment of three respected members of the civic and business communities to the BHS Board of Trustees. The new Trustees are: Jerome Jay Anderson, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Pittsfield Cooperative Bank, Richard M. Dohoney, a partner in the law firm of Freedman, DeRosa & Rondeau, and Lorinda Ackley Mazur, former President of Richmond Telephone Company and Richmond Networx.

Anderson was appointed to his current position at the Pittsfield Cooperative Bank in March of 2009. He previously served as Regional President and Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at TD Banknorth in Pittsfield. Anderson is also deeply involved in civic and community affairs, having served as Treasurer of the Berkshire Housing Authority Development Corporation, President of the Pittsfield Economic Revitalization Corporation, Treasurer of the Berkshire Museum, a Director of the Central Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, as well as a former Director of the New England School of Banking. Anderson received a degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and was a Lordan Scholar at the New England School of Banking at Williams College. He resides in Pittsfield with his wife Karen, and their two children.

Dohoney joined Freedman, DeRosa & Rondeau in November of 2004. He specializes in municipal law and civil litigation, serves as general counsel to the City of Pittsfield and is on the Executive Committee of the Berkshire Bar Association. Dohoney previously practiced law in Boston for five years before returning to his native Berkshires. Active in community affairs, Dohoney is an associate member of the Great Barrington Planning Board. He graduated from Boston College and received his law degree from Suffolk University Law School. Dohoney lives in Great Barrington with his wife Michaela and their three daughters.

Before her leadership role at Richmond Telephone and Richmond Networx, Mazur was previously President of Taconic Telephone Corporation of Chatham, NY. She is a past board member of the United States Telecom Association, past Board President and board member of the New York State Telecommunications Association of Albany, NY, and a past board member of the Telecom Association of New England. Mazur is a former board member of Berkshire Healthcare Systems, the long-term care associate of Berkshire Health Systems, as well as having served on the boards of Downtown, Inc., and Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic. She currently serves as a board member of the Country Club of Pittsfield, as a member of the Barrington Stage Capital Campaign Committee, on the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center Fund Development Committee and as a Century Campaign Member, and is a Money Management Volunteer at Elder Services. Mazur received a degree from Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT, and lives in Richmond with her husband Tom. They have two children and four grandchildren.

Departing BHS Board of Trustees Susan Kormanik, Joan McFalls and Ann Trabulsi will be recognized for their many years of service to and continued support of Berkshire Health Systems and the community at a special reception in June.
