BMC Annual Fund
Each year, Berkshire Medical Center's Annual Fund and the annual Golf Tournament raise money to support a project that will benefit our patients and our community. Projects range from new technology to the development of new services, from unit renovations to the expansion of existing programs. Contributions from individuals in the community, local businesses and our employees help make these projects possible.
2013 Annual Fund to Support State-of-the-Art Cancer Care Technology
The BMC Annual Fund will help to support our investment in advanced technology for Radiation Therapy that will greatly benefit patients facing a diagnosis of cancer. As part of the development of the new BMC Cancer Center, a new Radiation Oncology Suite is being constructed at the BMC Hillcrest Campus, and will feature a technology called TomoTherapy, a state-of-the-art system that delivers highly precise radiation therapy to the area of the body that is affected by cancer, without an impact on surrounding tissue.
BMC will be using the most sophisticated TomoTherapy technology, which includes clinical capabilities not found with other systems. This is part of our commitment to providing the latest and most advanced cancer care therapies and treatments for our community, so that our patients will not need to leave the Berkshires to attain the best high quality care.
