Dr. Robert Lincer Appointed Chairman of Surgery at BMC: Will Provide General Surgery in North Berkshire
PITTSFIELD, MA - Berkshire Health Systems has announced the appointment of Robert Lincer, MD, FACS, as the new Chair of the Department of Surgery at Berkshire Medical Center. Dr. Lincer has also joined the physician staff of Berkshire Surgical Services of BMC and will be providing minimally invasive and general outpatient surgery at the North Adams Campus of BMC. In November, Berkshire Surgical Services of BMC will open a location at the Northern Berkshire Specialty Practices of BMC, on the first floor of the North Adams Campus.
Dr. Lincer joined the BMC medical staff earlier this year, succeeding Parvis Sadighi, MD, as Chair of Surgery, and Marcella Bradway, MD, who served as Interim Chair.
“We are pleased to welcome a surgeon with a proven history of leadership as our Chairman of Surgery,” said Diane Kelly, RN, BMC Chief Operating Officer. “Since joining our staff, Dr. Lincer has been working to continue the expansion of surgical services across the Berkshires, and is bringing outpatient general surgery to Northern Berkshire with the opening of a Berkshire Surgical Services of BMC practice at the North Adams Campus of BMC in November.”
Dr. Lincer came to the Berkshire after serving as the Chairman of Surgery at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. Dr. Lincer was a member of the Connecticut Surgical Quality Collaborative, and was Chair of the Statewide Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Committee in Connecticut. He is board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Surgical Oncology from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, NY.
Dr. Lincer has served as Chairman of Surgery at Lawrence and Memorial since 2013, and he had served with Norwalk Hospital for nearly ten years, and previously worked with Stamford Hospital, in Stamford, CT. He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency in General Surgery at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center, New York, NY.
In addition to Dr. Lincer beginning practice in North Berkshire in November, he will be joined by a new general surgeon in early 2017 as the practice expands further.
