BERKSHIRE MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES KERMIT GORDON SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
PITTSFIELD, MA - The Kermit Gordon Scholarships were recently awarded by Berkshire Medical Center to ten Berkshire County students enrolled in medicine, nursing, radiography, physical therapy and other healthcare related professional education programs. Through the support and generosity of the Gordon Family – longstanding donors to Berkshire Medical Center – ten Berkshire County students were recently awarded scholarships to begin or continue their education in the healthcare field.
The scholarships were awarded to:
• Evelyn Atiemo, a 2009 Pittsfield High School graduate entering Marymount Manhattan College this fall, studying Pre-med. She is the daughter of George Atiemo of Pittsfield.
•Kaitlyn Duerr, a 2009 graduate of Mt. Everett Regional High School, entering Merrimack College in the fall to study Health Sciences and Physical Therapy. She is the daughter of Laurie Krom of Ashley Falls and David Duerr of Schenectady, NY.
•Valerie Goly, a 2009 graduate of Pittsfield High School, entering Berkshire Community College’s Pre-nursing program in the fall.
•Jenay Haskins, a 2009 Mt. Greylock Regional High School graduate, entering Williams College in the fall to study Pre-med and Spanish. She is the daughter of Steven and Julieann Haskins of Williamstown.
•Samarra Page, a 2009 graduate of Taconic High School, entering Curry College this fall to study Nursing and Health Sciences. She is the daughter of Michelle Page of Pittsfield.
•Kristine Pezze, a 2009 graduate of Drury High School, entering Southern Vermont College in the fall to study Radiography. She is the daughter of Wendy Lawton and Edward Reynolds of North Adams.
•Shane Ruberto, a second year student at Syracuse University, studying Biomedical Engineering and Pre-med. He is the son of Pasquale and Tracy Ruberto of Pittsfield.
•Katherine Russett, a 2009 Taconic High School graduate, entering Springfield College this fall to study for a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She is the daughter of Gary Russett of Pittsfield.
•Stephanie Wojtkowski, a 2009 Taconic High School graduate, entering the University of South Florida this fall to study Pre-med. She is the daughter of Steven and Rose Wojtkowski of Pittsfield.
The Kermit Gordon Scholarship Fund at Berkshire Medical Center was created by Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Gordon in 1985. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, superior academic performance, commitment to a chosen field and potential for success.
