Joint - Post-Operative Care
Post-Operative Inpatient Care
After your joint replacement surgery, post-operative discomfort is managed through specialized pain management techniques that will enable you to begin moving with your new joint.
Physical therapy is provided twice per day after total joint replacement surgery. Patients learn how to walk with an assistive device, how to safely transfer position to position, how to go up and down stairs, and how to move appropriately to get in and out of a car. Occupational therapists also work with patients to teach them how to perform their daily activities at home safely.
