The Berkshire Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) in partnership with Berkshire Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative (BOAPC) is offering a cost-free NARCAN training in conjunction with an upcoming regional MRC Volunteer meeting. NARCAN can reverse the effects of an overdose. The training is geared towards individuals with little to no medical training, although some familiarity with First Aid/CPR will be helpful. Participants will learn: Different types of opioids, Risk factors, How to recognize signs/symptoms of an overdose, How to administer NARCAN, Rescue breathing protocol. After completion participants will be equipped with the skills needed to save lives by responding to an overdose. Please RSVP for planning purposes.
