With Multicultural BRIDGE, we will explore the many types of social identities, microaggressions and microinequities that can arise in the workplace. We will review concrete examples around race, gender and sexuality and identify the impact, or micro-messaging, despite the intention of the comments. Through concrete examples participants will have an opportunity to explore multiple perspectives in an exchange as it relates to an individual's cultural identity, context and bias while analyzing impact v. intent. Finally, we will review ways to navigate these inevitable daily interactions that fosters community, relationship-building and safety through the rule of cultural competence, the platinum rule.
