BMC Cancer Team

You’re not alone. Every cancer patient at BMC is supported by an entire team of highly-skilled doctors and other medical experts trained specifically in cancer care across the full spectrum of cancer types and treatments. Their collective experience provides a powerful base of knowledge and support as your own medical oncologist coordinates your treatment, therapy and recovery.

Your Personal Care Team

Your own Primary Care Physician and your Oncologist Physician confer closely and assemble for you a dedicated Personal Care Team for your specific condition and needs.

Whether you’re in the doctor’s office, at the Cancer Center or at home, the constant interaction among the physicians and the entire team ensures continuity of care. Their specialties include hematology oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecology, urology, pulmonary, pathology, dermatology, neurosurgery and thoracic and reconstructive surgery.

Your Dedicated Oncology Physician

Leading your Personal Care Team is one of the highly qualified Hematology/Oncology Physicians on staff at the BMC Cancer Center, a group whose training and experience help make this one of the top-ranked cancer treatment programs in the United States.

The Larger Team

Your Personal Care Team also includes a highly skilled complement of other oncology care experts, including oncology nurses, oncology nurse practitioners, radiation therapists, an oncology social workers and an oncology nutrition counselor. Care Navigation

Your care begins at the moment of diagnosis. A Registered Nurse is immediately available to you as part of your Care Navigation team, guiding you one-on-one through the process, coordinating your care, providing education and ensuring your questions are fully answered. Care navigators streamline the appointment process and connect you with support groups, nutrition services, educational materials and financial information, all at no cost.
