Physician Profile - Chief of Staff Robert Wespiser MD
Robert P. Wespiser, MD
Chief of Staff, Berkshire Medical Center
"Despite the changes in health care, I still feel most fortunate to be invited into people's lives."
Born in Holyoke, MA, Robert Wespiser didn't need much encouragement in becoming a physician. "Foremost, my mother was a nurse, and one of my high school teachers also encouraged me," recalls Dr. Wespiser. "It's a choice I've never regretted."
A graduate from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Dr. Wespiser is currently Chief of Staff at BMC, owing to his skills in both clinical practice and medical administrative matters, along with a stellar reputation for adhering to the highest standards of personal and professional integrity during his years of practice. His specialty is Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wespiser is also the founding medical director and still active physician of the School Health Clinic in Lee Public Schools, which has offered free care since 1992. His hobbies include kayaking, skiing, gardening, "and tinkering with our old Victorian home."
Dr. Wespiser lives in Lee with his wife, Diane, a science teacher at Taconic High School. They have three grown children: Brian, living in Colorado, as well as Adam and Emily.
