Steven F. Will, MD
Dr. Will is board certified in Neurological Surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from Williams College in Williamstown, MA. He received his medical degree from Cornell University in New York City and completed his Neurosurgery residency training at The New York Presbyterian Hospital – Cornell Medical Center. He is Spine-Fellowship trained, completing a fellowship in Spinal Neurosurgery at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.
Dr. Will specializes in spinal surgery, whether it be a simple decompression or complex instrumented fusion. He encourages nonsurgical therapies to be optimized before surgical options are considered. Dr. Will also has interests in intracranial surgery for tumor, trauma and VP shunts, as well as peripheral nerve decompressive surgery. He treats adult and mature adolescent patients.
When Dr. Will is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family participating in an array of activities. He particularly enjoys traveling with his wife, skiing, cycling, and photographing the outdoors and wildlife. Dr Will is excited about the opportunity to be back in the Berkshires.
Joseph F. Emrich, MD
Dr. Emrich is board certified and fellowship trained in Neurological Surgery. He earned his undergraduate degree from McGill University, and went on to receive his medical degree from McGill. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at Montreal Neurological Hospital of McGill University.
Dr. Emrich is fellowship trained in Neuro-oncology and Brain Tumor Imaging, from the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, and came ro the Berkshires from Pennsylvania, where he had served for several years as a Neurosurgeon and Director of Functional Neurosurgery at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes Barre.
James O’Brien, PA-C
James is a board certified PA-C with 17 years’ experience in Neurosurgery. He received a Bachelor’s of Science with a physician assistant degree from St John’s University in New York. Personal interests include cooking, hiking, fishing and spending time with his family.
Samuel W. Smith, PA-C
Sam is a board certified PA-C with 16 years’ experience at Berkshire Medical Center in neurosurgery. He has a Master of Science degree and completed his physician assistant training at Northeastern University. He received his undergraduate degree from Bates College and was raised in Williamstown, MA. When not at the hospital, Sam enjoys spending time with family, pursuing a variety sports, woodworking and producing pure maple syrup.
