Berkshire Medical Center has a firm commitment to providing a complete osteopathic medical education for all osteopathic trainees who participate in our teaching programs.
We have developed a thriving OMM continuity clinic for our students, interns, and residents to see and treat their own patients under the supervision of a Neuromusculoskeletal/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Board Certified precepting physician. We also have an active OMM hospital consultation service, a weekly OMM lecture/lab curriculum and monthly Osteopathic Grand Rounds.
A Neuromusculoskelal/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (NMM/OMM) Plus-one Residency program was created to follow an AOA Internal Medicine or other primary care residency program and opened in July 2012.
We have a diverse medical staff representing all medical specialties. Our medical staff includes over 20 Board Certified Osteopathic Physicians representing a wide range of medical and surgical specialties including Primary Care Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, NMM/OMM, Hospitalist Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine, Nephrology, Rheumatology, Neurology, Interventional Radiology, Anesthesiology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Oncologic Surgery, and Pathology.
Pittsfield is located in the scenic Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts, a major tourist and cultural destination, and is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the Northeast.
Our Dual-Track IM program is transitioning to the ACGME model with a comprehensive Osteopathic-Focus Track. All interested applicants may apply through either the AOA or NRMP match. Please see the IM Residency page for details.
