Letter from the Chair and Program Director:
I welcome you to the Berkshire Medical Center General Practice Residency in Dentistry Home Page. I hope that by reviewing the information presented here you will be able to get a feel for the Dental Department, the program, the hospital, and the community in which we call home. Berkshire Health Systems is well known as the region's leader in healthcare, and the Dental Service has been a part of the system since 1979. We are a not-for-profit health system with a mission of improving "the health of the people of Berkshire County and surrounding communities, regardless of their ability to pay" and these Core values.

The General Practice Residency in Dentistry is one of five postgraduate training programs at Berkshire Medical Center; all of which have a long history of excellence.
The Berkshire Medical Center General Practice Residency in Dentistry is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirement." The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. Our residents receive a well rounded experience such that they are prepared to succeed in careers as private practitioners, public health dentists or to seek specialty residency positions. The dental resident's are members of the Berkshire Medical Center house staff. They are able to achieve the balance of outstanding clinical training and rewarding personal lives.
I am proud of our department's balance of clinical experience and commitment to learning. We are fortunate to have an excellent corps of committed community general dentists and specialists.
