HealthGrades: Ranks BMC in Top 5% in Nation for Pulmonary Care
Berkshire Medical Center is ranked among the top 5% of hospitals in the nation for overall Pulmonary Care Services, according to an independent study by HealthGrades, the nation's leading healthcare ratings company. In fact, BMC has achieved HealthGrades Pulmonary Care Excellence Award for seven years in a row (2009 to 2015) and the Critical Care Excellence Award for four years running. BMC is a recipient of HealthGrades Pulmonary Care Excellence Award every year for the past five years. In addition, BMC has received a five-star rating for the treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and treatment of Pneumonia.
"We have very skilled caregivers with a lot of experience," said Diane Kelly, RN, BMC Chief Operating Officer. "A big part of the reason is Dr. Daniel Doyle and his Critical Care Team in this hospital. He and his colleagues are committed to our patients and to the best in pulmonary medicine."
"People who work here also live here and use this hospital," said Dr. Doyle, Medical Director of Critical Care Services. "It impacts their dedication and devotion to their patients. This award is also not just an achievement for pulmonary medicine. It reflects on this hospital as a whole. The way you succeed as a leader is having quality people to lead. That makes your job very easy."
