You have a choice of four comprehensive medical plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield and Health New England. Our plans are designed to meet the diverse needs of employees and their families. These plans include innovative wellness benefits that provide generous reimbursements for gym membership and weight loss to employees and family members.
Your medical coverage begins on the first of the month following your date of hire.
Three dental options provide different levels of basic, preventative, and restorative services including orthodontic care for children. Dental coverage also begins on the first day of employment.
Flexible Spending Account
A Healthcare Spending account allows you to shelter pre-tax dollars per year to use for eligible expenses. A debit card is provided to you to pay for expenses at the time of purchase. With a Dependent Care spending account you can shelter pre-tax dollars for qualified daycare expenses.
After three months of employment you will be eligible for the employer paid long-term disability insurance program that offers 50% income replacement. An option to increase your coverage is available. Short Term Disability Coverage is available for you to purchase.
Life and AD&D Insurance
You will become eligible for this insurance after three months of employment. Berkshire Health Systems pays for the basic coverage and you have the option to purchase additional coverage for yourself and your eligible family members.
A 403 (b) Pension Plan is available through Transamerica Retirement Solutions. Upon meeting eligibility requirements Berkshire Health Systems will contribute an amount equal to 2.5% of your annual salary as well as a half percent match for every 1% contributed by you up to the first 4% of your contribution.
Paid Time Off
BHS offers generous paid time off plans in the form of Earned Time and Long Term Illness Bank.
Your Earned Time allows you to accrue paid time off for vacation, holiday, sick and personal. Accrued hours carry over from year to year and increase with length of service. Annual cash-in-option is also available.
A long term illness bank is also provided during your first year of employment to be used for extended personal illnesses.
