Despite the wide availability of behavioral services, research indicates only a minority of people receive adequate screening and care. Research also indicates that failure to adequately address mental health or substance abuse problems have serious implications for the individual, the workplace, and our health care system. Depression is one of the top 10 most debilitating diseases in the world and is the number one cause of absenteeism and diminished productivity in the workplace.
Without appropriate treatment, these conditions can be disruptive to careers and jeopardize health and well-being. The EAP recognizes that the enhanced detection, accessibility, and treatment for employees and their family members experiencing behavioral health difficulties can improve the health status of the employee, their loved ones, improve productivity, job satisfaction, motivation, and may reduce lost time from work. As a hospital based EAP, we have available a broad continuum of diagnostic, psychiatric, medical, rehabilitative, wellness, occupational, and related specialized behavioral healthcare services within our integrated continuum of care.
